When is your next game day?
Imperium run regular airsoft events usually every other Sunday, throughout the year including Skirmish, Ground War and Battlesim events. Skirmishes offering shorter scenarios with several social breaks to rest and prepare for the next mission, or when you are ready a tougher airsoft Ground War or Battlesim featuring hours of non-stop squad-based battle. We also hold longer 12- and 24-hour events, including Milsim. Click here for the next game dates and to book.
Can anyone play?
Events are open to all levels of player, age 11+. Under 18’s will need approval and a signed disclaimer from a parent or guardian to take part. Ideally, younger players should be accompanied by a paying, playing adult.
It’s my first game – what should I wear?
We recommend full length trousers and top, such as jeans or cargo pants and either a softshell jacket or military style jacket. perhaps with a long sleeve T-Shirt underneath in case you need to strip down!, these clothes will protect against BBs and prickly vegetation, and allow you to feel or at least hear BB’s hitting your person. avoid hoodies or sweat shirts , as you will likely get too hot, or worst of all not hear or feel BB’s hitting you, which could mean you are ejected from the game for not playing honestly! One of the most important consideration is footwear due to uneven terrain, hiking or combat boots are highly recommended– no trainers, these will help reduce the chance of an ankle injury.
While most players like to wear some type of camouflage it’s not essential, an ‘operator or private military contractor’ look can easily be achieved with Jeans and a checked shirt, when combined with our tactical vests you’ll look utterly badass. Do not worry too much, everyone was new once and we attract alot of new players to every event!! Teams are divided by clothing colour but this is overridden by an issued red or blue armband.
What do I need to take part?
If you already have airsoft kit, once you’ve booked online and signed the e-disclaimer, just rock up with your own equipment, have it chronographed, and play!
We also offer a full on-site rental option which includes everything you need for the day – an AEG rifle, high-capacity magazines, 5000 BBs, full face protection and a tactical vest. Just buy your Ticket and show up in old clothes and appropriate footwear – anything with good ankle support!
What time should I arrive and what happens when I arrive on-site?
Gates open at 7:30am, with most people arriving by 08:30; you’ll be greeted by a team member to check your booking and directed to a parking space. If you have your own kit, head directly for the FIRING RANGE to have your weapons chrono checked and tagged for the day. If you are hiring equipment, visit the Imperium site shop in the compouned at 08:30 to be briefed and collect your rental package. A further site briefing will take place at 9:00am, with the game commencing at 10:00am. Depending on the event, there will be opportunities to break for food and drink, with endex at 4:00pm.
It raining, snowing, windy, hot, is the event still on?
We have never cancelled an event due to any normal inclement weather. Players should come equipped for the weather on the day, that could be sunscreen and extra water with suitable lighweight clothing, or it could be raincoats!. In Winter you should wear multiple layers so you can take them off and put them on as needed. If in doubt due to some unprecedented weather event (snow storm, extreme wind, lightning and thunderstorms) please check the website and facebook page or group before attending.
I booked a Ticket and now cannot attend, what should I do?
As all our events have a capacity limit and normally sell out, once you decide to attend and buy a ticket, you have committed to attending the event. Refunds are possible, less a £10 Admin Fee, with 3 full clear days before an event. Alternatively, we can transfer your ticket to another future event free of charge. For either option, if you wanted to cancel or transfer your ticket, the request would need to be received by Wednesday (anytime) before the Sunday Event. this gives us some time to sell your space to another participant. If you wish to Transfer it to another person perhaps a friend, or someone you’ve sold the ticket to, this is also possible up to Friday night ahead of the Sunday Event, just email us play@imperiumairsoft.com and we’ll update the register! Unfortunately, if you cannot attend on the day for any reason, or inform us at late notice no refund or transfer will be possible.
Can I be on the same team as someone else booking separately?
Yes of course! During the safety briefing you will be divided into two teams (red or blue) and issued an armband to wear. As long as you stand together and wear the same armbands you’re good to go!
What are your FPS / Joule Limits?
We will test for Joule’s using are Ammo at the weight below.
Pistol: Max. 360 FPS with .20 (Tested less than 1.3 Joules with .25G BB)
Rifle: Max. 360 FPS with .20 (Tested less than 1.3 Joules with .25G BB)
Support weapon: Max. 360 FPS with .20 (Tested less than 1.3 Joules with .25G BB)
Designated Marksman Rifle: Max. 420 FPS with .20 (Test less than 1.7 Joules with .40g BB)
Sniper: Max. 500 FPS (Tested less than 2.4 Joules with .40g BB)
All FPS limits are guidelines only; we will measure for acceptable levels using our own heavy-weight BBs (see above) or your game-weight BBs if heavier and measuring for Joule muzzle energy at Chrono.
All Guns to be used must be subject to chrono after booking on and carry the appropriate tag. We will perform random chrono on players throughout the day.
If you enter the game without chrono or are caught using a weapon which is in excess of legal limits you will be banned from site. In the event of a severely overpowered RIF being deliberately used we are under an obligation to report the offence to the police (as it is classed as a section 5 firearm) and will share your details with other UKARA sites. There are no excuses.
Can I wear a ghillie suit if I am not a sniper?
It depends; if it’s a SKIRMISH event, we have relaxed the rules so that ANY CAMO GOES with ANY GUN including Ghillie suits. GROUND WAR EVENTS require that Ghillie suits are only permitted for use by Snipers with a bolt action rifle. Ghillie suits make you very hard to see, and to identify your team colour, so it’s only fair that we balance this by only allowing snipers to make use of this incredible camouflage at our more immersive events. If you want to use a semi-auto DMR, a COBRA SNOOD (head / shoulders only) IS OK, but with any full-auto-capable weapon as primary or secondary at a Ground War, you must not wear a Ghillie.
Can I use home-made pyrotechnics?
No. Only Enola Gaye or TLFSX are currently permitted at Imperium on Skirmish days, and Tag Innovations no larger than a MK7 at Ground War events. Home brew pyro is expressly forbidden.
I lost something at your last event, has it been handed in?
We collect and store any left items after an event. Please visit the site office in person on a game day to request a check of the lost and found.
UKARA, I’ve played a few times and love airsoft! How do I become a UKARA registered player able to buy a RIF (Realistic Imitation Firearm)?
To become a registered airsoft player you are required to take part in three games at the same UKARA (United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association) registered game site over a minimum of two months (56 days or more between first and last game). You must be over 18 years of age and provide some form of photo identification such as passport or driver’s licence and a proof of your home address.
Your details will then be added as an active player to the UKARA database and issued a site number. UKARA manage a database of players who regularly attend games at participating insured airsoft sites across the UK with a legitimate reason or ‘Defence’ for purchasing a RIF (Realistic Imitation Firearm) from a retailer. UKARA was formed in response to the 2006 Violent Crime Reduction Bill to enable a safe method of selling RIFs to the UK airsoft player market by confirming the eligibility of purchasers.
This active status then allows you to purchase RIFs from any UKARA participating retailer, following a successful check against the database. If you do not attend games regularly, after 12 months your UKARA number may not be renewed and can be placed as inactive. Imperium requires you to play 3 games in the last 12 months to be considered for defence renewal, with one of those games being within the last 3 months.
Brightly coloured Imitation Firearms (usually part painted green or red) can be purchased without a UKARA number if you are 18 or over, and can be used at Imperium during skirmish events.
What military vehicles do you use and can we drive them?
Imperium have a fleet of military vehicles used in game and to ferry players around the 80 acre site. These includes three 5-ton Unimogs and a Man Truck, 3 15-ton Saurer Infantry Fighting Vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers, 4 Pinzgauers, G-Wagons and multiple 4x4s. They take an active role in the day and some have mounted MG42 machine guns for players to use free of charge! All vehicles are operated on game days by our own professionally trained team of drivers and commanders for the safety of our players.
If you would like to drive any of these vehicles – you can! by booking a Private 1-2-1 driving experience at Imperium Adventures to buy a voucher!
Do you take in-game photography? When and where are they posted?
Yes! All games are professionally photographed by Darwin of Atdarz Airsoft, capturing all the action and airsoft fun! These are posted to the Imperium Battle Group on Facebook usually 7-10 days after the event to allow for post-production and editing. Join the group to view the albums and shoot the breeze with new and regular Imperium players!
